Lineage: Originally from the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan/Pakistan.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce /$295 ounce (special)

Looks: Leafy, frosty, light and airy nugs. Dark and light green buds with traces of purple and a few burnt orange hairs. Dank with heavy trichome coverage.

Smell: Musty, earthy, grassy, sweet and spicy. The scent is slightly minty.

Taste: Musty, creamy, sweet and spicy flavor closely resembling the smell. Smooth vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: Mellow narcotic buzz. Clear headed, sedating and mildly euphoric. Pleasant numbing sensations were noticeable throughout the body along with a general sense of well being. Best for the evening and for sleep.

Summary: A classic example of Kush. Not the heaviest hitter, but I really enjoyed the taste and buzz. Hindu is a great choice for late in the evening.

Looks: Dank leafy nugs. Medium green buds with burnt orange hairs and heavy trichome coverage. Sticky when broken up.

Smell: Musty, piney, skunky, sweet and spicy. Classic Kush scent.

Taste: Musty flavor very similar to the smell. Smooth vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: Relaxing body buzz. Clear headed, moderately euphoric and sedating. Familiar Kush effect. Good for late in the evening.

Summary: A nice batch of Master Kush. I was craving some Kush and this hit the spot. The buzz was great and the taste was on point.

Name: Candy Kush

Type: Mostly Indica (About 65% Indica, 35% Sativa)

Lineage: OG Kush crossed with Trainwreck

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce /$400 ounce

Looks: Frosty and leafy nugs. Light and dark green buds with dark orange hairs and very heavy trichome coverage. Brittle to the touch, but stickier when broken up.

Smell: Musty, piney, sweet, citrusy and a little sour. The scent is slightly funky.

Taste: Musty and funky flavor similar to the smell. Smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Mellow hybrid stone. Heady with a moderately strong body buzz. The stone is spacey and mildly euphoric. Slightly racy. Not couch lock-y.  Best for the afternoon and early evening.

Summary: A funky tasting strain with a spacey stone. Headier and less euphoric than my favorite Kush varieties.

Name: Chem Valley Kush

Dispensary: Green Works SD

Grade: B+

Type: Mostly Indica (about 70% Indica 30% Sativa)

Lineage: Chem Dawg crossed with San Fernando Valley OG Kush

Price: $18/gram, $55/8th, $100/ quarter, $190 half ounce /$350 ounce

Looks: Leafy and spongey nugs. Dark and light green buds with a few orange hairs and heavy trichome coverage.

Smell: Earthy and lemony with a touch of fuel. The scent is funkier and less piney than OG. Smells closer to Chem Dawg.

Taste: Similar to the smell with a funky lemony fuel flavor. The taste reminded me much more of Chem Dawg than OG Kush.

Buzz: Moderately strong body buzz with a stoney and slightly energetic head high. Slightly racy. Not overly sedative. The buzz reminded me of Chem Dawg or a heavier Sour Diesel. Headier than I was expecting. Best for the afternoon or early evening.

Summary: An interesting cross that leans more toward Chem Dawg than SFV OG. I’m not a huge fan of Chem Dawg or Sour Diesel, but I would think fans of those strains would enjoy this.

Name: Cotton Candy Bubba Kush

Dispensary: Green Works SD

Grade: B+

Type: Mostly Indica

Lineage: Cotton Candy Kush x Bubba Kush

Price: $18/gram, $55/8th, $100/ quarter, $190 half ounce /$350 ounce

Looks: Dense tightly trimmed nugs. Medium green buds with a ton of orange hairs and decent trichome coverage.

Smell: Musty and earthy with a sweet spiciness. The smell is lighter than many Bubbas I’ve sampled and not as sweet as the previous batch of Cotton Candy Bubba I got from GW.

Taste: Slightly sweeter than the smell out of a vaporizer. Smooth vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: Relaxing and slightly euphoric. Fairly sedating. Not as heavy as straight Bubba Kush. Best for the evening.

Summary: A sweeter and lighter variation of Bubba. This batch had a slightly less pronounced smell and flavor and didn’t look quite as impressive as the previous batch I sampled.

Name: Barack O Bubba

Lineage: Bubba Kush x Unkown.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce /$400 ounce

Looks: Leafy, hairy, frosty nugs. Mostly light green buds with many burnt orange hairs. Brittle to the touch, but dank and fairly sticky when broken up.

Smell: Musty and woody with a sweet spiciness. Smells like Bubba Kush. Slightly less earthy than many batches of Bubba I’ve sampled.

Taste: Really similar to the smell with a musty, sweet and spicy flavor. The taste was pleasant, but not as pronounced as the better Bubbas I’ve sampled. Smooth vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: Relaxing body buzz with a goofy and slightly euphoric head high. Moderately sedative. Stimuled my apetite. Signature “Bubba” effect. Best for the evening.

Summary: A pretty good batch of Bubba. The taste and effects were not as strong as my favorite variations of the strain. I’m not sure if it’s a good enough batch to be named after a president, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Name: Super Kush

Lineage: Unknown. Master Kush and/or Hindu Kush are likely in the genetics.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce /$400 ounce

Looks: Heavily frosted dank and hairy buds. Light and dark green leafy nugs that appear lighter due to an abundance of trichomes. Sticky, especially when broken up.

Smell: Musty, piney and skunky with a hint of sweet spice. Slightly minty. Smells a little less sweet than Master Kush, but very similar.

Taste: Rich musty flavor similar to the smell. Smooth vapor with moderate lung expansion.

Buzz: Familiar “kush” effects. A comfortable, but heavy body buzz with a clear and relatively active head high. Reminiscent of Master Kush. Relaxing and moderately euphoric. Stimulated my appetite. The buzz was relatively short, but enjoyable while it lasted. Best for the evening.

Summary: A fine example of kush. The buds were totally covered in trichomes and the taste and buzz were both excellent. I would definitely pick this up again.

Name: Ghost Kush

Lineage: Unknown. Hindu Kush and/or Master Kush are likely in the genetics.

Price: $20/gram, $60/8th, $110/ quarter, $210 half ounce /$400 ounce

Looks: Spiky, frosty and hairy nugs with heavy trichome coverage. The trichomes appear white. The buds are deep dark and light green with golden hues. Slightly brittle to the touch and a little leafy. Stickier when broken up.

Smell: Musty, earthy and woody with a sweet spiciness. Smells like Kush. Mustier than Master Kush and a little less sweet and woody.

Taste: Similar to the smell, noticeably musty on early inhales. Smooth vapor with heavy lung expansion.

Buzz: Heavy and sedating stone primarily to the body. Minimal head activity that’s slightly stoney. I experienced nice numbing effects through my shoulders and down my spine. Definitely a night time strain. Good for sleep.

Summary: A solid Kush. The taste was deeply musty and earthy. I prefer the taste of Master Kush, but Ghost Kush hits heavier.

Looks: Dense, frosty and spiky. Medium green with a ton of burnt orange hairs. Trichome coverage is even heavier when broken up with some purple hues noticeable. Nugs are very sticky when pulled apart.

Smell: Musty, woody and skunky with a sweet spiciness. Classic Master Kush scent.

Taste: Woody with a sweet spiciness. Very tasty.

Buzz: Relaxed body buzz with a clear head high. The head high is calming, but active and slightly euphoric. Best for the evening. Great for watching a movie.

Summary: I’m a huge fan of Master Kush and this is a great batch. I loved the taste and buzz. The nugs were nicely frosted and sticky when I broke them apart.
